Chellarkovil Eco Tourism

Located beautifully in the Idduki district, Thekkady is a renowned and an important
tourist destination in Kerala. The very word conjures the images of lush green forests, herds of elephants, spice plantations, exotic cottages, rich flora and fauna and appealing atmosphere. Located 5 Kms from Thekkady, Murrikaddy is an inviting tourist spot, washed in the fresh scented cardamom, pepper and coffee plantation. It is a must visit place in Thekkady as it gives you not just the beauty of the plantations but also share so many knowledge about how are they done and the things that need to take care of for the protections of these spices.


Cocooned between Chellarkovil and Tamilnadu is a small picturesque hamlet Pandikuzhi known for its picturesque greenery and brooks. It is an ideal place to go for picnic and trekking.

Mangala Devi Temple

It is an ancient temple perched at an altitude of 1337 metres above the sea level. Built in a Kerala style of architecture, this ancient temple is visited by huge number of pilgrims and tourists during the month of April and Many. Atop a hill, one can enjoy the panoramic view of the eastern slopes of ghats and the exquisite villages of Tamilnadu.


It is a sleepy little hamlet known for its appealing view of the plains and the cascading waterfalls. The village is also famous for its coconut grooves of cumbum.


Vendiperiyar is another place of tourist interest in Thekkady. It is well known for its sprawling tea gardens, coffee plantations, black pepper and the Government Architectural Farm and Flower Garden which has arrays of rose plants and orchids.
